my blogger blogs always get indexed extremly quick!! I have several of them hosted on my own domains and severs. I just haven't had any luck with wordpress as far as ranking or traffic. My blogger blogs just rank and get crawled so easy!
Assuming we're talking about the self-hosted Wordpress, it's the best! Whether you're a newbie, or a seasoned veteran, there's just soo much you can do with customizing Wordpress. Your imagination is your limit. That being said, Blogger and other hosted blogs do offer a quick way for writers to get up-and-running fast. And for that, they're very good. One might argue that you could start out hosted and then migrate to a platform with more flexibility once you're more comfortable with what you're doing. Either way, keep on blogging!
I recommend you should use wordpress for your blogging. I better than blogspot but not free your hosting and must buy a domain If you blogspot you can use subdomain, and free hosting, good speed.
blogger is better if you are new to blogging business and you do not want to give time in your blog layout and adding code. However, wordpress.org blogs(self-hosted) are better options if you can do some code editing and all. Self-hosted blogs are way better than any other blogs.
It has to be wordpress every time. Getting indexed and ranked really quick is an easy thing to do with wordpress. Plenty of posts + Good promotion techniques + Good plugins = Good rankings in google and good rankings for profitable keywords = money in the bank!
Getting indexed for a Blogger post will usually take 20 minutes, so I don't see how WP can surpass that?! = Revenue will source from the quality of your content and the placement and relevance of the ads provided on your blog. You will probably need high PR as well! Being included in the serps doesn't guarantee "money in the bank" at all.
I find Blogger much easier to deal with and much more intuitive. Why should I have to *find* a WP theme that looks exactly the way I want it to when I can set up a default Blogger theme to look the same way? Also, looking at self-hosted Blogger sites, you'd never know that many of them weren't WordPress.
Well you can transfer the files to your own server if you'd like. I'm not sure what would be the point with Blogger, as you get free, unlimited hosting and the server is extremely reliable. You can setup your own domain name in two minutes, problem being if you have already built up backlinks, PR, submissions etc for the sub domain! I don't actually see a problem with staying on Bloggers domain either, it's only like some trading guy moving from a shop or website to Ebay and running everything on there... only having to worry about Ebay, Paypal and Email. Likewise, with Blogger, it would just be Blogger, Google and Email... but ofcourse Blogger and Google is integrated anyway. Blogger just makes everything so manageable and simple to me. It got to the point where I hated running my own websites before coming to blogging. The crappy Bravenet hosting would go down every few nights without fail! Hated the coding as well and the lack of communication with your visitors; didn't have time or the effort to run a user forum. I am not trolling against WP. I can undestand that it is great software (esp for the techy lot) and has it's advantages! The only reason I am defending Blogger is because it is getting attacked on every single page I see. They have these Blogger/WP threads all over the webmaster forums; I just don't see the point in them. Just because you use one certain platform, it does not mean your going to make lots of money, or be successful at blogging. People probably spend more time debating the software on forums than they actually do making blog posts... Anyway Peazzz out & Merry Xmas.
As for me, I'm satisfied with self hosted Wordpress. When it comes to customization you have all the flexibility. I'm also using Blogger for some of my blogs. As to which blogging platforms is better depends on ones taste and preferences. The talks about which one is more easily indexed, it seems to me that most are just personal opinions. Happy blogging folks and Merry Christmas.
@Ryan6 I appreciate your views on blogger's advantages over a self hosted wordpress but I think we're talking about very different things. The point is very simple. As a webmaster I want MY files on MY server. I want them all in one location so I can easily manage them. Sure, it's easy to say that you can easily host them somewhere and provide a link on your blogger blog but that beats but by admitting that, you've already proven that having your own server is better than blogger. Yes, blogger is a great software for blogging but for someone like me, it's simply not flexible enough. And yes, WP vs Blogger is getting tiring. This is like, what, the 6th thread I've seen? Too bad the mods are either too busy to notice or it's something else.
Yes, it can. Every time you start off a new Blogger blog, you get the choice of hosting it either at Blogspot or on your own server (or rented server-space). Blogspot is equivalent to Wordpress.com and your own server is equivalent to Wordpress.org. The argument that self-hosting is a relative advantage of Wordpress over Blogger is just plain wrong.
I really don't get that "far more professional" thing.... sure you can do more things with WP, but what the hell has professional got to do with anything?! Blogging is Blogging. If you want to be branded/corporate/professional, then opt for a website.
