Thanks for this post.I just started a Tv shows and movies streaming site.Beginners like me learn a lot from this.
I have been using credit burner but now I have put up bidvertiser and doesn't seem to earn much from them either.

1.can I set up multiple CPM networks?
2.Can I try CPA lead or Zango? Anyone had goodluck with that? Or anyother suggestions?

I am new to these stuffs.Also can anyone help me setup CPA lead?

I have a couple of movie sites (only provide links and embeds).
Adsense does VERY well on them, primarily with image ad units.
Most traffic from Digg, as it comes up in search engine listings first.
They steal the SE thunder, actually....so it is second-hand traffic.

I found Nabolister in a post from this thread and signed up.

Any advice on how to actually get any traffic from the site?

What hosting do you prefer for such "questionable content" sites, because a lot of TV streaming sites got down by movie developers, because of "linking to illegal content" and "endorsing piracy"? I am looking for something cheap and reliable that will allow Wordpress and have CURL enabled. It should be based outside USA for the above reasons.

Never had a problem. I dont really think its illegal content (I mean i have never got in trouble with it, and i have something like 10 sites with videos etc on it) Lacehost is based in india with servers in USA.

I have two sites (See my Sig), and they are #1 and #4 in Google for my keyword. How should I monetize my rankings?

 

Personally if it was organic traffic. I would just use cpa banners or similar. Or go with affiliate banners.

What i would put at the other end of the scale is forceable zango or cpalead. Although i quite like cpalead, for organic traffic i wouldnt want to do anything that will turn people against your site i guess. As in i use cpalead when i have lots of traffic coming from crap places that i dont care about.

 

Ive started using Adbrite recently. Ive been earning about $2 a day. People said it was crap but I think those earnings are very good considering my traffic.

So try Adbrite before anything like CPA Lead or Zango if you have not already.

 

What are the most popular TV shows? the ones which started this year (2008) and are as popular as lost or prison break.

Also is there any site with a list of popular tv series, when they started and when they'll end?

 

It depends, abrite does not work for me. I'm not satisfied with it. I prefer not to place any ads than putting adbrite.

Where do you find videos to post?
Most of the TV shows are hosted on foreign video hosts like YouKu, Megavideo, 56.com and similar. Just type in "watch [show name] online" and copy the video mirrors you find on other TV show sites to your site.

Where do you find the content for your site?
The content you must write yourself if you want to have good search engine positions and free, massive traffic from Google.

Is it hard to start a TV show/Movie listing site?
Yes, starting up is hard, because building the site from scratch is time consuming. You may as well buy ready, built brand new websites with videos and content already posted, but I wouldn't recommend that, because the content is very likely to be duplicate from some other site, thus contradicting to what you want to achieve in the above point (good SE rankings).

How much can I earn per month with this kind of website?
There are too much factors to consider, before predicting your earnings. Traffic source, traffic amount, visitor countries, conversion ratio (if you use conversion based advertisement like ZangoCash or CPALead) and more. Just work your a*s of and you will see the results. However, don't give up after you see the good results, because the key here is to constantly improve and promote your site, otherwise - the traffic will most likely die in time.
