    Hi,

I want to clear this up, How does Unrelative or Relative Backlink affect Page Rank? for example if you have a blog and it's niche is "online marketing" with a Page Rank of 2 and you have a back link from a blog that it's niche is "SEO" with a Page Rank of 5.

    Question:

    1. Will the pr 2 increase in the next update of google?
    2. How many PR 5 back link to make the site PR 4 or 5?
    3. How about if we change the niche "SEO" to "Flash Games" or something un-relevant, how will this affect the Page Rank?.

Thank you for your Time and Effort answering my Questions... :) Thanks!

seo and marketing are related ;) those links are good
seo and gardening are not related. those backlinks are pretty much worthless ;)

Thanks :) ! but will my page rank increase with those unrelated back links? how about if my back link has a PR 0 will my PR 2 decrease?

    Thanks!

I wouldn't dare to say they are worthless every backlink is a virtual vote to your site even if it is unrelated, specially if this unrelated backlink has good page rank that could pass to your site. No backlinks could harm your site except does bought in bulk and created in a really short period of time

Low quality one-way backlinks - either irrelevant or low PR - shouldn't lower your PR unless you slipped by Google with them and were artificially high to begin with.

I cant imagine calling a PR6 link to your site with good anchor test worthless, just because it comes from a site thats not in the same niche.

Personally i recon a PR5 or PR6 link from an unrelated page, is a hell of a lot better than a PR2 link from a related page.

PR would have a much heavier weighting than the page being related.

I dont thin any problem of getting Unrelated BL. And also can not predict any PR by ho ranked relevant site. only can assure to get some PR if the links remains for long time.
