PayDotCom tricks

I was analyzing PDC marketplace and found one interesting fact. There's an APS score associated with each product. And the trick is that PDC shows real APS score for 10 "Top Sellers" products, and APS/10 for everything else. It's pretty obvious if you download their market feed.

Product N10 ("Power Cash Secret") has APS 1827.11, same on website.
Product N11 ("Watch TV on PC") has APS 1802.7, but on website it is 180.27.

There's something telling me that these top 10 products might be somehow affiliated with PDC owner...

Well, Mike Filsaime does own PDC, and he's one of the top affiliate-publishers around. But as far as his connection to products on PDC goes, sure, he has his own products there, but a majority of the marketplace has products from other publishers. Frankly though, I never did like PDC so I won't comment further.

Have you seen the PDC order page? I find it hard to believe it converts!

    And I hate Filsaime too!

PDC is not as big as Clickbank, so what you are talking about could be possible.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. It's the way he (Filsaime) tries to constantly squeeze money out of the users of PDC (with all of the upsells etc) that makes me very wary of using it. He just treats it like another IM product rather than a real tool. It's too bad too, because it could be a good competitor to CB.

There's another competitor rising: click2sell, which is more similar to PDC than CB. I'm closely following its progress and hope it will become bigger than PDC soon. At least it's clearly customer-oriented: UI, features, API, customer support - it has everything PDC doesn't have!

Oh, and the best part is that it's not affiliated with Mike Filsaime :)

    lol...i refrain from making a comment in regards to M. F. :)

PDC idea itself is great....but my success on it so far was rather "mediocre". But many things about it i like.

Absolutely. I agree with you on all fronts. Click2Sell comes across as much more professional. I'm testing it right now as an alternative to CB for my product but have yet been able to push any traffic to my C2S test page. As soon as I get any results I'll definitely post them here.

PDC seems like a great opportunity spoiled by a greedy internet marketer. I get so much junk mail from just being a member of the network. It's about as unprofessional as possible. I get some junk mail from other affiliate programs, but at least they are related to the products they're wanting me to promote, not just massive upsells.

Agreed. It's pathetic how when you join PDC Filsaime tries to sell you on a big "upsell." It just makes it seem like some big IM scam. Makes me not want to work with PDC. Actually that's why I decided not to even try putting my product up there. It just seems like a spam garden.

A funny thing is that gmail automatically puts all messages from Mike Filsaime into a spam folder - I don't even see them :D

Paydotcom has some great products on its market place but for some reason I don't like the fact tht publishers have to pay their affiliates when they earn a commission.

What if one day, a publisher just run away with my money. Do I go after the publisher, who probably has a Penn Name or do I go after Mike Filsaime?

No doubt about it, PDC could and can be a good alternative to CB, but before it reach this level, Mike Filsaime have to change quite a few things first.

I was a PDC affiliate a couple of years back and I had this exact thing happen to me. I earned about $1000 with one vendor and they never paid me. They wouldn't even respond to my emails.

So I contacted PDC support about it. You know what they did about it? NOTHING. They wouldn't even remove that vendor from their system. Why not? I guess they were still getting THEIR fees for his sales.

Sorry to hear about your story Zibblu, but I just had a feeling something like that could happen to me too and this is why I can't go along with PDC

Yeah, I was in the same boat as Zibblu but not anywhere near as much. Made the sales for the vendor and come payment time no response no nothing and there wasn't a thing I could do.

I've never promoted anything on PDC from then on.
