Hi, Below is my problem, I have used to buy several domain using paypal from name.com. But today when i'm in process of buying domain, during checkout after i key in my paypal password to allow the transaction. Then the transaction is failed then it redirect me back to name.com page. Minutes later i received email from PP At first i thought it system glitch. I do the process to leave the limitation. Then i try to register the domain for second time, the process is still the same. And again my paypal is limited then they give me same reason "account compromise" So,anyone having same problem with me?
I think someone was trying to access your account at the same time from another IP address. Run antispyware software. Your PC might have been infected by a keylogger which transferred your paypal acc info to the hacker. If it is possible make a fresh install of your operating system and then follow all the steps of paypal so that your paypal account gets unblocked.
Mentos did you use another IP address for logging into Paypal while Paying to Name.com I also had same scenario, I registered for an account with Godaddy.com , was going to pay them through my paypal account, and the next day when I saw , my account was limited. The reason they gave was same as yours. neverthless I provided them proofs and got my account unlimited.
Can't be. I don't think there so many coincident that happen thrice(someone was trying to access your account at the same time from another IP address). Its impossible coz this only happen when i buy from name.com When i buy other thing after few minutes i leave my limited, then i can normally buy from the shop. So i think its not the case as you told.
I am just assuming that this could be the situation. I think you should contact with paypal as soon as possible informing the issue.
No,i acess my PP account as usual only using my PC not using any public PC. But the limit is easy to leave only take 5 minutes to release my account from limited status.
I think you should change password and put It to a tricky one..Also I have purchased My Domain Smart Bloggerz from name.com I didn't got any such problem while purchasing..
FYi,don't take this chance to promote your blog. And your domain is already aged which mean you already purchased it many day ago when this problem is still not arise.
I'm sorry you're having that problem I'd be more than a little frustrated right now if I was in your shoes. Have you tried to call Paypal directly to find out what is going on? Maybe they have been having issues with people disputing .name purchases recently. If calling is inconvenient perhaps email them and ask directly. I know it is a pain but if you keep trying to make the purchase PP might decide to place a more long term freeze on your account. I believe the only time I had a similar incident (it was awhile ago) I called and customer service sorted it out pretty quickly.
I called PayPal directly when someone hacked my account and we confirmed all information on the phone and they released it in three minutes. So helpful!
FYI.read the 1st post before start posting. My problem is not people trying to hacked my account but on unable to transaction with name.com using paypal.
Same thing happened to me after I bought hosting. They limit my account asked for password change, utility bill and secret answer change. I did all and got unlimited again...but problem is that the hosting provider didn't provide me service because paypal opened dispute for inquiry. Still I didn't got that amount back and not hosting. I have done all what I can do but I think I lost $60.
I assume that you have verified your paypal using valid CC and not any VCC or such. Since you said that you have buying domains since a long time from name.com and paying by paypal, there should not be any problem this time too! Have you tried contacting name.com? What happened with you, happens with me too but with GoDaddy! I tried contacting both but they blame each other!
Thank for your nonsense reply. I don't think name.com such as big company will try to hack my PP account that have only $1.
This is for the first time that I have come across with such a peculiar situation. Logically it doesn't look if name com should be the reason for your a/c limitation. It has to be something else, that is technical in nature.
