Hi i run warezit.co.uk we have over 2000 members and about 2000 - 3000 hits a day but people just dont sign up and post can any of you guys offer some suggestions ?
I would imagine people don't want to be associated with warez. Try and make registration less personal.... And offer something for members only.
- Reward them with special ranks or points (things that cost nothing to you) - Send out regular newsletters - Restrict non-members' options - Increase advantages for members - Make signing up easy, fast and offer the registeration on every page
1) Only guest section will be allowed for public and keep other sections only for members. 2) Give free accounts of file hosting site. 3) Give some special content what is not available in other forums. Good suggestions. Easy & fast registration will be good but email verification is must.
You can use pay per lead campaign to drive up your sign up rate. Beside that,you can also organize a campaign that called member recruit member and get paid. For example,you pay each member $1 after they successful recruit 1 member to join your forum.
This kind of offer may be abused with a lot of fake sign ups and $1 per sign up is too much. But $1 per referral sign up should be good if the member is an active poster. But the amount should only be paid after he completed 100 posts.
