Here is the issue: We ordered a backorder or pre-registration, which domain name registrar has bigger priority over any other? is there any official ranking? urban legend? I think Dynadot, Dotster and Enom could have big priority to catch up domains but is only my personal belief. Thanks.
FYI,if you mean lanrush such as recently launch .tel domain extension. Then all the registrar have same equal amount of percentage of acquire the domain. The .tel issuer make it a fair competition for all the domain registrar by not giving any special privileged to anyone of the domain registrar
generally no single registrar has an inherent advantage in a drop/landrush situation. however, it does come down to efficiency of their scripts/algorithms. also the number of registrars owned can be a factor. in the old drop (and even today) it's groups like snapnames/pool/etc that have a lot of registrars hammering for them that give them an advantage. godaddy seems to dominate .US drop (or used to). but the game as has changed for most good names arent dropping anymore. they are being sold off by registrars, so special contracts with snapnames, namejet, etc are key.
NO registrar has preference over the other..its just that the registrar which is successful in connecting with the registry first gets the priority..the size of the registrar is irrelevant..also, its advisable to go with service providers like snapnames etc cos they have tie ups with a lot of registrars..so it increases the chances of getting the domain name..
Thanks to all for the excellent replies. So the main factor can be the internal efficiency and the responsability of the registrar... I think big domain registrars with a lot of clients could be the most appropiate due professionality and proved efficience, but also couldnt due big amount of customers... so in conclusion choosing registrar is a lottery...
