Yea been posting on yahoo answers for a while now since before i found this forum and i was never quite aware how much people used it for trafficing their businesses...lol
I used to just post for fun, and since Im good at posting I post for other people's businesses. I would say it is an excellent source for posting considering people can search on google for something similar to your answer and find somone's question with your link on it.
Hundreds of people also view other people's questions as well. Now but I really have no clue if the sites I am advertising for are getting traffic or not, but I have not gotten any complaints. :D

If your answers are relevant and useful, I don't see anything wrong with it. People will be more likely to click on your link. They use nofollow as mentioned above, so posting irrelevant answers for the sake of getting a backlink won't do much good.

Yes it is very nice option specially when you have a good rating profile over there too . I have received too much traffic from them and good money from their traffic also by affiliates .

Yahoo Answers definitely has good traffic. They are often on the first page of search results. As everyone above mentioned though, they are nofollow so they won't help boost rankings.

It's people like that you destroy potential like Yahoo Answers.
Thanks for ruining it for everyone else, I'm sure you wear the title 'spammer' proudly and highly :)

well, it depends, if ur site is IT related site, you may spam the answers as well as URL.. but it's not do follow and PR may not be encourage if you just spam randomly.

but nevertheless, I must agree, if you use it as reference sites, not only your sites, but also the real deal sites that are helpful, u will get noticeable amount of traffic.. that's for sure.

It is for general good that one uses such facilities moderately....

Too much of anything usually ends in a disaster......so hope people realize that too much of exploitation will lead to complete closure....

Make money and let others make money too !!!

yea i do not care too much for yahoo answers either..I still post on there and it is handy with many situations i may go through daily...they dont have problem with those "type" of questions. But just let it be someone posting about a business opportunity or referring something, then they will send you some notice and some appeal as if you're going to court for murder... Of course they always deny it as if they get a kick out of taking 10 pts away. I just think their system is too strict.
They call everything spam and then they have other ppl on their brainwashed thinking a program is spammed so it results in you getting reported..what a bummer. and then getting banned permanently!!

well, i think it depends on the best answer percentage.

and if u don't put ur site link in every answer, it should be fine.

because i only answer what i really know. and i have 18% best answer.. maybe if you are just shooting for 2 points in long term and put your link everywhere, it might effect alot..

i mostly answer in computer and internet because it is the cloest to my site niche, then again, if i answer some categories like pets or health or other categories, I hardly include my site, but also include the correct references and sources..

    my main answer would be

Google or yahoo the correct and relevant keywords to find your answer.. that will help them self-help solution first and then ask questions later. it's important that we cannot be involved with something all the time. especially yahoo answers.. coz u might get banned somehow.. same goes to google or msn..

I guess Yahoo is another generic way to get decent bursts of traffic, but I don't personally think spamming will do any good because your efforts of publishing your website to the world will be nothing in a few weeks. I think its best to stick with the safe side and write articles and write comments and such to get more traffic, the manly way.

I use yahoo answers for my joke site but I don't spam it when some ask for a certain joke I post one and the url where you found source. I get a lot of traffic and I get a few clicks a day and I am getting repeat visitors that have bookmarked it. I started in oct getting 300 pages looked at and now anywhere from 2,000 to 2500 pages a day.
