Google isn't going to give you any benefit from having the words in the domain - they are in the wrong order and have a word in between them. It could be ranked page 1 easily - but thats because of the lack of competition, not the quality of the domain. You could buy another domain for $5-$500 and use the change to rank it first page no problem.
Google would show that part of the url but only as a surface presentation for the keyword. Google places more focus on hyper linked anchor texts and as many good quality PR links that you can get that are relevant or complementary to for sites content. I've got four sites on highly competitive keywords by doing this. ROOFIS
Yes but you lose any benefit of those words if you switch the order they are in, or if you add words in between them.
just a minor update to keep this thread going...I emailed him today and offered $250 and 3 domain names that i own. salesagentjobs.com commissionbasedjobs.com jobssales.com (6 years old) I found out he is sitting on over 300 domains all career related...we'll see: what do you guys think of that counter offer?
Very generous imho. Don't let him screw you any higher, if he realizes you just regged the .net he sounds like the sort of person who might think he has you hooked and can go in for the 'kill'.
let me ask this, might be a little of topic but... I am trying to build links for one of my sites i am creating using the anchor text "Teen Jobs" would it make sense for me to do "Teen Jobs and Summer Jobs" is it possible to get double love in anchor keywords...both teen jobs and summer jobs relate to my existing site. My thought with the summer jobs theme was to create a feeder site that would drive traffic to my original site...Should i just stick to the one site and try to build up 2 keywords or build 2 sites each with one keyword... advice and suggestions, please..ty
I'm glad you took my advice Some kind advice, If this person has 300 domains I don't think he/she would be interested in anymore. The focus of this domainner will be to sell as many as possible. Also by offering money + your domains tells the seller that you value the domain in question. This could in turn make the seller value the domain and potentiality demand more The trick is to communicate to the seller in such a way that he/she doesn't suspect your enthusiasm. I'm glad you registered the dot net version. If the seller gets a bit hesitant to sell then you could say that you own the dot net version and your only willing to pay $250 (as you quoted) and that you plan go ahead with the dot net anyway. By doing this you've essentially told the seller that you are not dependent on the dot com which is his/her current trump card. This should convince the seller to sell because I don;t think he/she will receive an offer for the domain unless it was heavily advertised to sell. Good Luck I hope you get this one post or pm if you did ROOFIS
well guys...he declined the offer of 250 and 3 domains...i thought i was being overly generous...i think he is crazy...any way no worries...i registered jobsinsummer.net and i just register summerjobsearch.com whick i like a lot better than jobsinsummer.com. In fact, it was 880 exact matches on google vs 32.... its all good...i really appreciate everyones advice on here.
It is a willing buyer willing seller market, rule of demand and supply, if you feel that you need it that badly it is worth 3k or more if not, it is just trash.
He's truly mad for not taking the offer considering that it's a three tier domain name. I'd personally email him to thank him for his time and to say that you registered summerjobsearch.com as an alternative and that further negotiations will seize. That will make him realize. Anyway congratulations and good luck with the site. FOOFIS
