best way to kickstart a new bidding directory?

I've just started a new bidding directory on a pr2 site. I also purchased a text link on a 60k alexa directory site. That should help out a bit.

How else do you kickstart your new bidding directories?

 

From my experience the best way is to bid high in other old and established bid directories.

 

I don't understand you post mikey..

Make a content rich directory instead? I believe I have to get some links before it will be content rich.

Anyone else have any tips?

 

I think ( to be corrected ) that Mike was saying that rather than start to try and promote a bid directory ( read some recent posts re these ) that it may better to start a niche directory and promote that.

Yes you will need to build it, but your also looking at building a bid directory that needs links before you call it a bid directory

So with the same starting points the suggestion was more to save some long term time / effort and grief.

If you really wanting to start a bid directory and want links, just sign up to adult, gambling and associated affliate sites and then slam the links into your directory at min bid, that will get it fired for you.

? You don't get an affiliate site to bid on your site, you place the bid with your affiliate link.

Champ you seem way out of water, I might be wrong but it looks like you have been sold a fairy tale by the dropped domain peddlers telling you bed time stories of buy a dropped domain with PR place a bid directory on it and your on an island soaking up the sun.

I really probably would do some more home work and maybe follow some of mike's idea's and more so go back and read a lot of posts here then start slowly if thats what you want

Today it is even harder than before to even make it a Little way in this game and it not a walk up stroll in the park

There is no short term instant hero unless your part of the QBC gang and these are being weeded out into other area's.

if you are half serious then get mike to build a 48 hour niche for you at least it will be set up right and you would have a good base to move forward with.

 

Think of something completely unique that will enhance your site.
Don't just throw up a script, drop a free template on it, and call it yet another pr[X] 'directory'. We have millions of those already.

 

I'd think bid directories are suited to gambling or auctions. I've not seen a niche bidding directory yet.

 

Advertising your bidding directory on other quality directories.

 

i would follow anon advice but you willl need a lot of reading and a lot of time to understand why.....
