the only prob is i have the .ws version, think its work trying to flip, or should i just park it, it has no traffic but i was wondering if maybe the guy who bought the .com version would like to have it? any input?
You said it yourself. Contact the buyer of the .com and ask them to make you an offer. Then counteroffer for more than whatever they suggest. Never be the first to name the price.
ty for the input i just want to make sure i wont get sued or something haha, im still kinda new to this, how does one get ahold of someone who bought the site?
http://whois.domaintools.com/ or google for "whois lookup" Some people will have domain privacy, and you will have to contact their hosting provider to forward your e-mail to them. Or you can see if contact info is on his website.
Most probably he may not be interested in the .ws tld domain, unless that domain has something to do with "West Samoa" (I guess you know .ws represents Samoa). If that domain has any connection with that country (like, if that domain is a celebrity name of that country) you may expect to get a good price. And you cannot go and buy the other TLD versions of a domain without researching first, just because the .com domain was sold for a huge price.
nice tyvm, gotta go to bed cuz its dumping in colorado skiing tomorrow but i sent the guy an e-mail and ill let you know what happens
oh i know that, i got it cheap so meh, even if i make a lil more on the sale its worth it and yeah i know about the .ws but also i heard people were using it as "web site" because i have done alot of searching and i wouldnt think that Samoa has a huge base like that.
may I sk you why did you bought that domain with .ws? is it a keyword domain? .ws is a weak extension and you can see strong keywords are dropped everyday! in this market those domains have a value of reg fee or a bit more than reg fee. the owner of .com will not buy the .ws , if it was .net maybe... anyway good luck
I agree with poster dlatua that the ws extension is very poor. Having said that, if I paid thousands for a domain, I would want to own all the generics that go with it...so contact the owner with nothing to lose.
You have a lot to potentially lose. If the domain is a trademark, offering to sell it to them can be seen as bad faith in a cybersquatting case (potential $100,000 fine) or UDRP case. It is usually never wise to offer a domain to a site that is already operating unless your domain was registered prior to their usage. A lot really depends on the actual name and whether it is generic or descriptive - or not.
I forgot to say, I have Unet.info 8 yrs old domain and unet.com sold this year for $100k (its .info, better than .ws ) cheers
.ws is garbage. It's such a bad extension that I'd just let it expire and move on, they will never fetch any money, not even from .com owners.
In my opinion I don't think the .ws version is really worth it. I doubt he'll buy it. Nobody really uses it anyway.
