Hi do you guys know how to optimize your keywords to show up on results for Quotes using googles keywords tool...

    i.e. "KEYWORD KEYWORD"

How do you get ranked for results using quotes in the search query? Thanks!

Ranking for keywords in quotation marks is much easier than ranking without them in my experience. The quotation marks mean that the person searching for the keyword is looking for web pages, which contain exactly what is inside the quotation marks...in that order, and with no other words.

It's an exact match search. Not using quotation marks may yield broad match results.

For instance, our site is #11 for one of our keyphrases without quotation marks, but #2 when I add quotation marks.

    Make sense?

yes tara I understand that but I'm asking how do you "Optimize" your site for keywords using quotation marks is it as easy as just stuffing content with quotations marks? I.E article with the keyword in quotations? Etc..

If my memory serves me correctly Google ignores the quotation marks and treats it like a blank space.

put the keywords in your title and meta tags, then when writing the content, be sure to say the targeted phrases as many times as you can without it looking spammy. Then get back links to those pages

I don't think so, when you write in google "Long Tail Keyword", google will search on webpage that has exactly this phrase <Long Tail Keyword> and ignore the quotation mark.

If you are referring to ranking well for searches made in Google using the quotation marks, then you do not need to have the keword phrase in quotes on your site. Searching for phrases within quotes just returns results for pages that have that particular phrase in its entirity.

    Is that what you meant?

You can't really optimize for quotation marks themselves; they are ignored by Google. All you can do is optimize for the phrase, which optimally would give you results for singular keywords, phrases, and phrases with quotations.
