I was testing my site. So I got lot of google ad impression. I was basically modified some code and refreshed the page. Dose this change my google payout. For example eCPM and page impression and ctr corelations.

I think human will never refresh a page morethan 5 - 10 times. so whatever you do manually will not count as cheeting unles you do something like this.

I like to set a cookie (by showing a username and password) which lets the site know it is me. Then I don't bother showing the ads. I'm not worried about impressions during testing, but I really don't want to click my own ads by mistake.

I make it a habit to look for things that truly interest me and to click on them. I figure, hey, that's what the ads are for! So, I don't want to forget I'm on my own sites and start clicking on interesting ads.

    Ditto,

Sometimes in the thousands. I can't see how you can be penalised for refreshes ? You don't get paid by refreshes, just clicks on your ads.

For me, I try to avoid that. Even if now I have a lot of actual impressions, I still refrain from viewing my sites on browser, LOL.

Own page impression doesnt harm your payout, they see your IP so there's nothing to worry.. but I`m not viewing my site 100 times anyway:)

Unless, of course, the ads being shown are CPM (site targeted) campaigns and not CPC.. :)

Extra impressions lower the page eCPM and that is not good. I know web masters that do not show an add to the user after four impressions (simple cookie counter).

As for me, I always have an admin cookie set that prevents the Google ads from being displayed when I visit/update my site.

I'm glad to hear that it's not harmful because I always refresh my pages like 1000 times before the final product. :D

I found that if I refresh a page too many times to quickly the ad stops showing. e.g Pressing f5 in quick succession.

I'm still updating my site so it is getting refreshed a lot as I check the pages. Is it best to go back and add the google ads when the whole site is almost completed verses adding them as each page is completed?

Sure, have a code that sets a cookie when you are visiting your site and put the google ad code inside of a condition statement that would let the ad to be displayed only if the cookie is not set.

I usually do not place the google ad code directly on the page, i have it in a separate page that is included when the ad has to be displayed. so, that other page would have the above mentioned code that checks for a cookie - one condition statement that affects all the pages that included the page with google ad.
