Yes, I'm talking about ranking with Google images! I was reading this post by Ewen Chia, (one of the super-affiliates in IM, if you haven't heard of him) and he was showing his readers how his little kids started their own blog for fun, and was getting about 3000 unique visitors per month! He was really surprised when he checked the stats, because they didn't care about traffic and certainly didn't use any traffic methods at all! Pretty much all they did was post photos of toys with captions, and it happens so one of those photos were ranked number 1 on Google images for a highly competitive keyword, and it was driving traffic to their sites without them having to do much at all! I didn't realize the power of Google image and there's certainly great potential to capitalize on this! What do you think?
Visitors from image search are worthless. It is only help to increase alexa ranking, but it never increase your sale. My website also getting huge amount of traffic from google image search but conversion is 0%. Bounce rate also very poor. So I think it is worthless.
Surely any visitor is worth having, if only to increase your traffic stats. I believe that the amount of traffic a site receives has got to be included within the Google Algorithms somewhere, so even if these visitors don't buy anything, they may be useful indirectly.
webcoolest is right. Image search traffic is really a worthless traffic. They may interest in your Images not on your product or service. May be this traffic may increase your CPM earnings
Agree with 'webcoolest' the most important part is conversion, otherwise those traffic/visitors will become useless
Luck also matters dude in sucess, even if we know everything and complete process.People here are trying to get good ranking in search engine from months but no results, here in this case it seems to be miracle. I strongly believe in "Keep Faith,Everything will be Ok"
That is very interesting. I usually use google images if I am trying to find a picture a lot of times I don't go beyond the page the picture is on. Mainly because the web site itself isn't that interesting.
I have a site that roughly %50 are froom google image search, makes me about $25 a month off adsense. So I'm not complaining.
I have a blog where i am ranked 1st on google image. Thanks to it I earn $80 a month with adsense...most of my traffic is from google image! So saying that google image traffic is worthless is false!
That's certainly one perspective. Many people widely regarded as experts here and in other related forums seem to disagree with it, some of them very strongly indeed. It's all very confusing, isn't it?
In my opinion, that's one of the main difficulties with IM - People can have very mixed opinions on certain topics. In many cases, even "gurus" advocate completely opposing approaches as to how certain techniques should be implemented, yet what they suggest against can be strongly recommended by other experts at the same time. In terms of broad strategy, there is nevertheless a general consensus on what business systems work and what doesn't, but in regards to specific tactics, the viewpoints can be greatly varied. What works for some might not work for others, as people have different innate skills. Some tasks are just not suited to certain types of people. At the end of the day, it comes down to testing and trial by the individual. Okay I've side-tracked quite a bit But coming back to whether or not traffic from Google Images convert, I'm sure that different people will experience different results. It largely depends on the commercial intent of the keyword for which your image is ranked. Even if the conversion from Google Images is poor for you, the traffic is still of value from an advertising and site flipping point of view.
It depends on the kind of site you have and the kind of images you have, as to whether you want these kind of visitors. But if you are trying to attract them, I advise you to set up some kind of hotlink protection, or your bandwidth usage could go throught the roof.
Since google image search will preview the top page of the site, putting some really catchy links or topic on that upper part that shown could give some help letting the visitor to enter the site entirely. Maybe a noticeable link saying "Get more interesting photos here" or something.
I also have a blog getting more than 200+ UV from Google Image search. All I can say is that traffic doesn't really convert not even a click on my adsense .
i agree with jonbuoy it will help a little with positions. but still i think those stats could be usefull if you want to sell that domain
Usually based on my own tracking, the conversion rate has always been very low. But certainly there's no harm in having more traffic.
