I was tempted to report a site full of spam to Google but i won't bother after seeing what Scubita said.

I'm so frustrated with all this nonsense in the SERPs that i just want to create a few spam websites myself and get going with some blackhat - so much for adhering to the webmaster guidelines, it's there to make you rank lower!

I'm not mistaken then that this stupidity started in October 2008, right?

No, i am not sure. I have seen these results lingering around for a long time. Sure they didn't rank that high but they were always there. October was fine for me at least because at least my site was ranking high and now, I am being pushed down and these sites are given more priority. There is absolutely no content on these pages. I have worked my ass off to make my site look better, have good and informative content and all. I would LOVE to talk to Matt Cutts right now and show this to him. As the head of web spam team, he should at least have some answers but then again, they do not really care about us small publishers :(

Could be the economy. Google is making cutbacks on contracters and employees.

Lets be frank, the FIRST thing google is going to cut is the spam / quality control and algorithm teams because they aren't the cashcow. Adsense is ultimately their cashcow, so they will focus more effort there. They need employees to check adsense accounts for fraud/ TOS violations. They don't give a rip about SERPS anymore. I imagine as the economy gets worse and their revenue and employees get fired, results in the search engine will be less moderated and get even more out of control.

What!? I can not believe what you just said. Google is not known for it's adsense or adwords plan mister, it is known for its search quality. I am sure that 90% of Google users have no idea about AdSense or AdWords and how it works. They are simple internet users who are looking for information and who have no idea what AdWords really is. What drives traffic to Google is the quality of their search and not the quality of the ads that gets displayed on thousands of websites and frankly, that quality is pretty damn low. I see all type of crap on AdSense ads and it seems that they approve every other site even if it is violating their ToS. I have seen such ads myself so I will never think otherwise.

Spam control and technical team will be the last to go and not the first which is kinda sad because apparently they are not doing their jobs and Matt Cutts seems to be taking a nap only to get up again and to start playing with this cats and all the cool gadgets he has. It seems that he is finally given up on what he is suppose to do and is focusing on ubuntu, cats, iphone, etc

Adwords is there cash cow. When you cut back it seems to me common sense wise that your quality and research control teams (filtering websites and working on algorithms, etc) would obviously be the first to go downhill. Adsense/adwords is there cash cow and they are going to focus more and so when they make cutbacks they are obviously going to devote more resources on optimizing that/maintaining that not their search results. They have to cut off "excess" somewhere as the economy dips.

How do you expect Google to make cash when traffic starts to die? Who goes first then? The cash cow or the reason why Google got the cash cow at the first place?

For instance, would you visit Google if you kept going through spam results?

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&gl=us&q=loans+for+people+with+bad+credit&start=10&sa=N

Try this link and tell me if you'd expect Google to make money if their Quality Control and Quality Assurance team does not get their heads out of their a**es

It seems the more mature google gets as a company... the less they give a shit about where they got their roots, its a shame.

Well im not saying they would stop it completey. Im just saying that they have to set priorities. Eventually they might have to focus more energy on search results again, but I think they don't really care much like they used to. They can't afford to care as much.

Ah come one guys, where did you get the idea, that google would drop their SERP teams first? There are a lot of different apps, that they can stop developing, and they are free, so they do not earn anything from them. And if they stop, they can continue, when the market goes back up.
SERP is what made and stil makes google different, and they know, that they need to develop it even more... And for it to be the first thing they dump is just wrong from you to say.

Google is not going to sit on the sidelines as they watch their search engine fill with spam. I guarantee you that. Another thing they need to work on is dumping these sites that have no content on them! also sites that are down should be penalized.

There is a underground idea among some relevant webmasters that Google is killing the SE to force webmasters + marketers to PAY $$$ to get top results = ADWORDS. Maybe yes, maybe not.

But some results ^^ just like that link above, say yes. You provided a similar link (the same?!?!?) a few weeks ago and until now nothing changed, just a lousy service for a major keyword. Myabe they are really killing (let die) their SE so we can buy some adwords.....

Interesting theory. But they would be killing their end users and no one would be using their search engine. I still think they will drastically cut back on SERP quality control and algorithm development, but I don't thinkt hey willingly want to do it, just the economy will force them to.
