I honestly Do not get the point of this? Like whats the point of calling me? I literally hate using my phone for talking that's why I have a blackberry and use instant communication like Email, Text messages, Blackberry Messenger, and so on. But having to talk to them on the phone especially when you are busy at times its a hassle. Something they can do at least is ask you what time is the best time to call you. Which then you have an idea that some one will call you. Ahh anyways its just my rant.
They are looking out for their best interest, any Joe Blow can sign up for an account and I think it's nice they want to verify you are who you say you are Just my 2 cents
For one matter, it's so they can verify you are a real person and not someone that is creating an account with fake information to generate commisions with fraud. Also so they can check you know what you are doing. If you don't pick up when they call, they'll just leave you a message to call them back. Besides its only one conversation that lasts between 3 to 10 minutes most of the time. Afterwards, you probably never have to talk to them on the phone again if you don't want to.
For $5 I can get a Prepaid line and get a new number not that hard, if some one had an effort of signing an account to do fraud getting $5 prepaid line is not hard right, Skype, etc. many things these days
Yes but many people that commit fraud are from some blacklisted countries which many affiliate networks don't accept. So they lie on their application their from the US when they are actually from Vietnam or Malaysia. A simple phone call and most people can tell from their accent and level of English. That is why you often see people here paying others to purchase their affliate network accounts or paying people to accept a call from an affiliate network in order to get approved. You can't weed out all the fraud with any method. But the phone call verfication helps reduce some of it.
Plus, if you aren't available when the affiliate network calls you, just call them back at your convenience. It's not too much hassle for all the money you could make.
Yes, they are checking your English skills. I don't think they will deal with people barely speaking English. I've read here at DP that some accounts were accepted without phone verification though.
