Really, can't understand how to add one more domain to my present hostgator account so it can stay by itself insted of at the end of my main domain.

    Here is what I do:

I go to account, press add on domains, add on domain, add folder in which files will be stored and finally create it.

Then I go to that folder where I uploaded in this case SMF forum and install it. When it's installed I go to the forum front page and it shows me my main domain and folder of the new domain that somehow didn't appear, but main domain did.

Sorry for this confusion but I need help, spent the whole day withourt progress, help me.

I think you need to ask the hostgator support. Just use chat and they would help you set up your add on site.

Thanks for your advice, but it will take too long.

Did anyone here add on domains to his hostgator account and can explain how to do that?

    Thanks.

With add-on domains it adds the domain to your main domain as a directory. You should be able to access your add-on domain just like any domain, domain.com. It redirects it from the directory to the domain name...

    Thanks for answers guys.

I didn't know about that and bought a new domain and added it to add on option and named directory with the same name.

So it means that I actually don't use my new bought domain, I use name that I created for directory where I upload my files?
