Hi I have a small site which I am developing based on my little knowledge.
I want to submit my site to yahoo directory, though I don't have a separate domain. I have hosted in a free web hosting service.

Will I be able to submit my site??
And what is the procedure. People say that I should have a site map and I do not know how to create one.

Can you help me in submitting my site to yahoo directory??

Yahoo directory requires payment for them to look at it.

It does not guarantee that it will be accepted as it still has to pass certain criteria.

There is (was) a free option for not for profit organisations, but you have to be a registered charity.

this is very sad but very true, google does not require this and that is why google is better(worth more) than yahoo.

Plus after its listed on google for a month or so yahoo auto adds it to their directory, I never submitted my site to yahoo and its listed in the directory but theres millions of sites listed, Im guessing you want like a top 20 spot, that will cost you at least a few hundred. Call yahoo and they will tell you what you need to know.

yeah it takes time though so you probably wont notice an impact right away maybe 3 months but if you have a bit of patience not a bad service.

yahoo charges, and that's for sure. Why don't you try google webmaster tools first. It's free and helps you a lot with creating good pages by informing of errors in coding and all. Also, I'd suggest you move your site from a free hosting to a better one, if you plan to use your website for a long time.
