Is there any way to track some one else website traffic? Other than Alexa ranking? Is there any way to find out, where does the traffic for our competitor sites come from and all?

I am not talking about tracking my website traffic. Google analytics is the best for it from my point of view. I am talking about how to track other people's website stats. That is, if we want to know the traffic stats of our competitor without letting him know, can we do that?

Not exactly. When I tried with my own, the figure is far far lower than the actual one.

I suppose, this site calculates using the alexa ranking of a site.

No! We must not track someone else site traffic. If you want you can't. Do it with your own site only.

and what would you do with the info? Spend ages trying to understand how they generate such traffic?

Stop. Worry about your own site and how to make it better.

It is just a query. I just wanted to know if there is any such way. I am not going to use any of them. But I was asked this question and I was wondering if that is really possible and that's why I asked it. I never worry to clear my ignorance.
