ban someone from wordpress?

    ok here is the deal, i have a dofollow wordpress blog.
    naturally this attracts alot of spam comments. now is it possible to ban certain IP's from my entire blog?

    Can't you just add the offending IP address in the "Comment Blacklist" field in the admin panel?

    Does it effectively ban the IP from commenting or is the use of plug-in as suggested by 'axxo08' more fruitful? If it is, I would not like to add on another plug-in to make my plug-in list more crowded...

    If you notice that most of those IPs are originating from a certain country or IP range, then it might be a good idea to ban the whole IP range. Just a friendly tip. :)

    I too have a do follow blog, I have used WP ban it is the best.

    It marks any comment from the offending IP as spam.
