    Hi friends!

I have been using Computer since a year or little more.

I used to have a CTR monitor. But, I got a Laptop (LCD screen) 2 months ago. My eyes burn when I sit infront of the CTR monitor. But, its not the same when it comes to LCD. :(

However, I am feeling like I am unable to see the far away objects as clearly as I used to see them. is this just my feeling? or does this mean that I have Eye Sight!

and Oh! How can I overcome that?

btw, How many of you wear spectacles? and How many of you got Eye Sight because of Computers?

Do not sit in front of the computers for long hours at a stretch...

Take 5-10 minutes break every hour or so....walk a little in these breaks and try to see distant objects...to relieve your eyes from some pressure.

And eat lots of greens !!!

My friend tell me eye exercise is good and improve eye sight .
    However I didn't try it myself .
I don't have much time to do the exercise.
I am facing the computer screen all day long which causes my bad eye sight .

Have your eyes checked with an optometrist. They have glasses for those who are always in front of the computer. I forgot what's in those glasses.

    Computer Vision Syndrome

The problem of Computer Vision Syndrome or CVS is caused by the fact that the brain and eyes have to react differently to characters on the screen when compared to the printed matter. Long hours in front of the computer monitor and the consequent glare and reflection have a bearing on the eye. headaches, double or blurred vision, burning and tired eyes and neck and shoulder pains are characteristic symptoms of CVS. Eye exercises can help in reducing the strain on the eyes and thereby providing relief to those suffering from this condition. Persons using the computer are advised to look away from the computer screen every 30 minutes and focus on distant objects for about 10 seconds.

    Try these, I do :)

I bought this book, and back when I could be bothered to do the eye exercises in it, I noticed an improvement.

It basically tells you to do a lot of focus changing - e.g look at your finger, then look at the horizon, x 10. Whenever you can do it... at traffic lights, when you're walking, etc... It's worth buying, or borrowing. If I could be bothered, I'd scan the exercise pages - but that would probably break some stupid rule somewhere.

Yeah there is some evidence showing that some exercises can restore diminished sight. However, the effects are often minimal and so you will need glasses/contact lenses to improve sight
