It will never completely die out.

So long as people continue to use the internet, it won't die.

People will always use the internet.
People will always want websites that reach high in search engines and generate more revenue, therefor people will need SOME kind of SEO to do that.

Infact SEO is one of the only jobs in todays current economical crisis that is still holding fast, people want more income and revenue to try to push their companies/businesses out of the 'crisis'.
Best way to do this is via the net, best way to do that is to have a good Ranking and make sure your company/business is being used, so companies/businesses will have need of SEO's to try to get the revenue that they desire.

    I think We're ok... for now. ;P

Google is not the only Search Engine.
If Google die, it doesn't mean SEO is die... only GO (Google Optimization) die.

I don't know but whenever the term SEO is discussed , the Big G is the first name that occurs to our mind.

I will certainly change, but I doubt that it
    will die any time soon.

It will die when the technologies we use to
    communicate becomes radically different, and
internet evolves into some new thing.

But at this stage, there's no sign of that just yet.

I agree. And even then, there will always be the need to look through the vast amounts of information available out there in order to get what you need.
