OMG!!! what should I do with this hosting company???

A few months ago I had bought a shared hosting package from 55host.net. It was good their support was also good. But then after a few days their company was over taken by gigenoc.com. So my website was shifted to gigenoc's servers.

At start their support was also good but now suddenly from the past week my website was loading too slow. So I submitted a ticket asking the reason for that and I waited for more than two days but no reply and after that they deleted my ticket!!

I submitted another ticket asking the same question along with why was my ticket deleted and they closed that ticket!!

Now from two days my website is totally down and I have absolutely 0 visitors!!! I want to take backup of my site so I can shift my host and I asked them to give me backup and still no reply from them!!!!

I don't know what to do now. I even contacted them by using contact form but still no reply!!! Can anyone tell me what should I do now? I can't loose all my pages.

It is really frustrating whatever has happened to you...

The servers have problems...alright...but the company choosing not to respond, is just not acceptable.

I sincerely hope you are able to get back your files.....

I bet the "support ticket" script they use is the one that has the status of "closed" when it's waiting on their reply. If it's what I'm thinking.... Then... no your ticket has not been closed. It's just waiting to be replied to by the support staff. Then it will say "open" when they're waiting on YOUR reply.

It had a status "open" for more than two days. After that it got closed.
And one of my tickets was completely deleted not closed. That couldn't have happened by itself.

Man i know your pain, basically 55host didn't 'Shut down' it was all a big cover up. Because of all the negative reviews they decided to rename and claim they sold their clients to gigenoc when in reality gigenoc was made a bit before 55host closed. Now they got a bad name and rep again he(the owner) decided to close gigenoc as well cant wait to see what other scam company he pulls out of his a** this time. These people cant maintain servers so they just blame the datacentre this is who they have been with in order.

    Hivelocity (beginning)
    Limestone
    Hivelocity
    The Planet
    Softlayer
    Hivelocity
    Limestone (today)

Anyway good luck with your site hope you get a backup.

ah, we've all been through things like this. the content of our sites hostage to our hosts.

just plead with them and tell them honestly what you want...a back up of your site. tell them you are not upset but just want to back your site up.

It's sad how some companies (if you can call them that) can't even respond to their clients in a timely manner. For this matter it's always a great idea to make local backups, incase something like this should happen!

Google cache is king for this though, I've had that happen to me before but luckily my content was safe! Hope you can still get a backup though!

We've all been through this at one time or another. There are a plethora of hosting companies on the net which are actually just some guy in his bedroom, or a series of resellers, or whatever.

My top tips for choosing a good host:

    1. Ensure they have been around for at least a year.
    2. Email or contact previous/existing customers and ask how their service is.
    3. Search for reviews on the net.
    4. Contact them by phone and make sure they are real.
    5. Contact them by email and make sure they reply.

I wrote an article recently on How to get cheap, reliable and unlimited hosting on eBay and it's worked for me for many years now.

Anyway, I hope you get your stuff back.

    Hello

    I was gigenoc customer.
First I was 55host.net network customer, and they work great, if there were any problems they noticed about it customers, and I could reached toi them by phone.

From 15.12.2008 the server was down and I send them support ticket, and no any answer from them.

it is already 21.12.2008 and I already send on this days about 7 support tickets, but as you say no one answer.

I start from 16.12.2008 calling gigenoc to understand what's the problem.
The customer and technical support didn't answer to calls.

I have on there server about 8-10 web sites and 3 clients and all bombing me.
They all and me need that all our web sites latest backups delivered to us.
    No one answer to us.

On those days I monitored gigenoc server status.
First days there no nany service which worked. On last 2 days there worked cpanel. Visiting to 74.63.193.2 the web paged opened with cpanel default page. Which mean that cpanel worked, but I can not accessed to my account page and my clients accounts. Today visiting to 74.63.193.2 page the page can not found. pinging to 74.63.193.2 replies "Request Timed Out", it seems that the server already down or not exist.

Actually I need only latest backups of my/clients data, so I can transfer to other hosting company.

I send email to softlayer data company to give any information about gigenoc. They all answer that they can not give such information as there policy. I pleased that may be they can contact with them and gigenoc will reply to me. They answer that they can not do as a policy agreement.

Actually their 74.63.193.2 server on limestonenetworks, I planning to contact with them, and may be they will help me.

May be you will call or send to abuse of limestonenetworks and softlayer companies so they will understand that not only me have same problem.
I think together we will have success and they will give access to our data so we can download latest backups.
