Big sites penalized by Google, How to prevent it?

    Hi all,

In past few months, I have seen some big sites getting completely removed from Rankings, these sites were ranking in position 1 to position 5 for almost every competitive keywords of their niche

    Example of site : d@te h00kup, h@ll0ween expre$$

Searching their name reveals their are penalized by 40+ or 50+ position for all their keywords, for over 3-5 months already. Will they ever come back again ? I am not concerned with that, as they are not my websites.

But my Question to you webmasters would be, How to prevent being in such a terrible Situation of being delisted from Google rankings.

    Thanks.

If a cure for penalizations would exist, the owners of the sites abouve would have already hired people to implement it!
For how long they have been 'penalized'? Might just be a fluctuation, or they were caught spamming or buying links!
If something like this happens, the only thing to do is submit a reinclusion request, pray and wait. :)

As long as you are not crossing the Google rules your site gonna be fine. I've experienced requesting re-consideration to Google after my site removal from Google index, in my case it was because the domain name was expired and dropped, but after reconsideration Google replaced all pages back to their index.

Those sites that were penalized probably did something that went against google's
    rules.

The datin site has been down for over 4-5 months atleast - i didnt see anything wrong it.

I have one of my website penalized from April, hasn't moved a single position from 51st. It was on rank 1 for over 2 years. Request for reconsideration didn't help either :(. My site isnt big as the above mentioned sites, but had over 5000 visitors a day, now in 100's visitors a day only. And I never did anything wrong, as I was on position 1 for such a long time.

Google adds same Number to Rankings to all keywords for the entire domain.

Talking about Google Rules, what Google Rules need to be broken to get penalized?
    1. Link building (Not in Webmaster control -- as competitor can buy links for the competing websites too)
    2. There is 0 outbound links on the above mentioned sites
    3. Above sites are good sites too - if not the best.

I am just brainstorming - so as to prevent such circumstances.

    loooooool

It is funny how they all die!!!

Anyways...Maybe Google does not like people dating. Maybe Google was divorced with Yahoo? I dont know. We can just guess Google is coughing again.

well, it may be not a penalty. i know Google sometimes rotate its search results. And as a result, the 2 sites you mentioned might have been victims of this policy rather than penalty.

As always happening, google algorithm is trying to be a better one but resulting to affect even those sites who suppose to rank well.

Better or worse, but they need to maintain some transparency with webmasters.. they dont care though, who will when they reach where they are now (thanks to us webmasters)
