I'm a history major, and I want to get a bachelor degree in History. I want to know what kind of job one can get with a history degree. Btw I'n in the US. Thank You
History teacher, museum curator, writer, archaeologist: these may all require some extra training after you graduate. Archaeology in particular is something done for the love of it, and not the money. For a lot of arts students, the benefit is in having a degree, and the topic is not as important as the fact that it demonstrates your intelligence and committment. So you may well end up not directly using anything you learn for your degree, and end up following a career in an unrelated field. I know I have hardly had any use for my French Studies since I graduated, for instance. Talk to your careers advisor as soon as possible for more ideas. You might do well to consider history in combination with another subject that will be more directly useful to the job you want to do.
I found this by typing "jobs history degree" into Google: http://www.historians.org/pubs/Free/careers/Index.htm Hope it helps!
Thank You that was very helpfull, I have the option to change my major to something else, so I have to think what exactly I can do and want to do with a history major, there is no point for me to get one, and find out the jobs that are offer are not much paying. I mean if I'm going to end up what I'm making right now, then either I should quit or change to something else. Studing history is no fun, and its hard work. For example I spend 13 days each day I spend about 3-to 6 hours writing 2 eassy, one was 20 page and the other was 14 pages.
I think you should ask yourself what you would enjoy doing. You've studied history for a reason, right? Ask yourself what inspired you and what would inspire you to do with your degree.
Good Advice Mike And For shahab6 I think u better Go with Archeology, and Then Connect it with the Internet World
