Preferred domain WWW or no WWW ????????

Hey,
I am sure that this subject was covered before (maybe 1 or 2 years ago - anyways i cant find the thread)

Is it better to have your Preferred domain set to WWW.google.com or google.com.


Does it matter at all ? Someone told me that with NO WWW your site gets more search results. Yes, it does make sense but if its true than why Google gives you an option ?

 

Never heard of nor experienced any traffic increase after writing the www redirect. Personally i go with www where it seems to fit - dont think its that important - just a visual thing really.

 

I prefer it with www.

 

It's adviceable to choose one of the options and redirect the other one using 301 redirect in .htaccess

As I had tried for one of my site and I failed to get results, before no www

Always add a www, but not because it makes any difference, just because it is standard convention.

 

You should use www I have read that www makes it easier for the search engines
to crawl the website.

 

It actually does make a difference, but not to rankings.. and yes using www for domains and http for sub-domains is my preferred way.

you must have www bcoz google love www so if ur site without www so u should make it www
