How to clear check here in India ( Internation in $ )

Hello guys,

I got paid from a company I worked hard for this much money but the check I got is from the bank ( JPMorgan Chase Bank , Suracuse New York)

It is in Dollar ($)

I went to ICICI bank but they said they cant give cash for this bank check.

So did anyone had this experience before or have any solution for it?

Please help me out I will surely appreciate.

Bank's do not cash it directly. Instead you need to deposit the bank as you deposit any normal cheque but you need to note that whenever you submit an International cheque you need to fill in some sort of a form. After you fill the form , deposit it in drop box and get a recieving from the bank.

They will charge you 200-350 Rs which is their service charge and cheque sending fees and then you will get your amount in 21 days. If there are holidays, it might take some long time.

Once I deposited in IDBI Bank, it took more than 35 days to get my amount because "HOLI" was in between.

Then this year I deposited one in HDFC Bank they asked me to fill a form and bam on 21st day I got an SMS indicating my account has been credited with the amount..

 

Is there anyway to get cash withdraw?

I dont want to deposit as I dont have bank account with the name I got in cheque.

Actually in my bank account my name is " Ashish Jain " but in check it is " Ashish Mutha "

So dont know what to do.

I got proof for both name lol.

Actually in my birth certificate my name is Ashish Mutha and in school certificates 10th and 12th mark sheet got Ashish Jain so can provide proofs.

 

You can deposit it in ICICI or HDFC if its not at par check it will take 25 business days to clear the check

 

oh ok then I think I should open new bank account lol.

first open a bank account to cash in any international check and any bank is ok but just make sure that your account name must be exact match to what is indicated on the cheque else the bank would decline the check.

 

U should deposit cheque to your bank account and yes your name on cheque and bank should match,it normally takes 30-40 days to clear.
