keep searching for cheap coders who will serve you with bad and unsecured code but when your site will be hacked you will pay 5 times to get things back
This sort of reaction to your requirements is natural, fatality. And it does not refer to coders alone. Anyone you wish to hire should receive a fair treatment. When you want something like a "referral system" built and "a few things" added to it while offering a total of $60 do expect scammers to approach you and just try to take your money away.
right on the money there, if people think they are so good and coding is easy, the please try and get your hands dirty with it, and you'll see why reactions are like these...
what is 'a few things here and there' is 'a nightmare here and 4 hours sorting it out over there' to the coder most of the time. people don't appreciate how complex and intricate coding can be
