Do you want to know what the best method is of gaining backlinks? The answer is...... JUST ASK! I run a dog nutrition website. When I started concentrating on backlinks I simply found dog blogs and asked for them to add my website to their blogroll. It was AMAZING how many people said sure. Tips: 1. Websites that don't have adsense, affiliate links are more likely to link to yours. The reason I think is that these websites are trying to be more of a resource than making money. 2. Install Pagerank toolbar to find the "Good" ones. 3. When emailing try to be as personal as you can. If you find something on their blog you like, tell them about it while asking for a link. 4. Blogcatalog provides a GREAT database of blogs. Simply just go down the list. I hope this information isn't to redundant and helps you out.
Hmm helpful tip there. I think as long as you are kind of respectful in asking bloggers to put your site on their blogroll they will be receptive. Good point about adsense and affiliate ads though. They will be much more likely to shoot you down, but it's still worth a shot. And those blogs are probably better to have your site on because you know they ARE concerned about PR and probably want to do what they can to give it a boost.
Soliciting backlinks is nothing new. Just don't do it in a massive email to hundreds of sites, be personal, and add value to the site you're soliciting from and it will happen. I've gotten many links from very high PR sites using this.
I agree, it's a great way of building backlinks, but also a great way of building your network, which is also very important, in the long run.
I actually have never really thought that this was a viable link building strategy. Do you get a lot of visitors from the site or are you mainly after link juice for pagerank?
Yes Greendog, it's a good way to build backlinks. Also, when I switched one of my site to its own domain name, I asked these webmasters to change the link of my site, each of them replied and changed it. So, yes, it's also a great way to build our network. It would have been impossible to do with automatic link building services.
Yes DanielTaylor that is a very good point. Nobody is going to link to your website if it has crap information and is filled with affilite links. With my websites I always try to: Build good content. Get links/traffic THEN monetize. in that order.
Yes, that is something that has been around for a while. It can be effective but very time consuming. With this I don't mean that it isn't worth it.
agree this is best method even need time and must be patience. anybody can give me sample any word letter to ask link placement to other webmaster? honesty my english is terrible and not worth it ppl see my letter.
Hi, Two Bad all the good deals go to those that don't need them. The they sell them to a novice like me for more money. Give the Novice a chance. Thanks, happy Holiday
