Well, if someone really wants it, he would pay a higher price for it.

Does this mean we should sell our sites on ebay instead of DP?

Put your sites for sale on ebay.

Maybe one in 10 sites that are up for sale actually sell.

Then again, if the OP had read, this is NOT the forum for this!

I think e bay is like any other auction, in that sometimes people get carried away with bidding. Take a moment to research the product, step back and know when to call it a day.

Ebay is weird for websites. 99% of them are total rubbish, 'THE NEXT GOOGLE' or 'YOUR OWN WEBHOST WEBSITE BUSINESS' auctions selling for $89 buy it now. However, I purchased a site about a year ago for $300, and sold it recently for $2000 - I did no work to it at all. Sites either sell for very high amounts, or very low amounts, so I normally check it at least once a week. (The best way to check is going going to the websites category, then selecting 'Highest first', on the 2nd or 3rd pages, you'll get to $20k-$500, which tend to be the better sites).

If you want to be slimey and insinuate that your template is a unique turnkey business that will make the user thousands of extra dollars with little or no work then sure.

EDIT : regarding if you should sell your templates on ebay for more money
