PR0 but second in google.. ?

When searching for "dofollow blogs", I came accross with whydowork.com's lists. The page has PR0 but why it is placed on number 2 of google?

High PR is not always equal to high SERP.

 

Then what is the reason why it is there? any idea?

 

Having high Pr doesn't mean high rankings. PR is not the basis of search engine results, you should put that on your mind. Since the keyword "dofollow blog" is not a competitive keyword, it would be easy to rank on that even though you don't do much effort.

 

PR has nothing to do with SERPS..
the reason it is there is because, it may have a low competition for that particular keyword or should have done a good seo!

 

The page might have a lot of backlinks I think... ?

 

PR is not reflection of High SERPs, SERPs depends on keywords (competitive or non-competitive) & PR is totally fondness of google.

 

Pr is just goolge gives rank for yours site according to your quality . But position on SERP is based on many factor not only PR. then content, quality of it, keyword and its densicity, bl quality , clicks, on page optimization etc...

I agree. PR is not very important for SERP's.

No sir, there isn't.

Someone could have a PR5 site that falls on the 8th page. Just because you have a solid PR ranking doesn't mean you'll rank well in the SERPs, and just because you rank well in the SERPs doesn't mean you have a good PR ranking.

Any jackass can have a decent PR...

 

SERP not depends on the PR. PR 0 sites also top position in SE. That keywork may be high KEI.

 

yes there is no relation with each other PR and SERPs, if we talk about this case, getting higher ranking it might because of Competition of keyword its not such a high competitive keyword so its easy to rank.

 

Agree with the other members have said, you can still able to rank high in search results even though your site's PR is low provided that you have quality content.

BTW, the site has PR3, only that particular page has PR0.

 

I checked the page again and evaluate the backlinks... and jeez it has a lot.. that might be the reason why it has such very 5high SERP.

 

I don't agree that PR has no effect on SERP. It is true that it's not the most important as sites with no PR can still get ranked - but if two sites are competing for the same keyword (i.e. optimising for exactly the same keyword) and both sites have this keyword in their content and good links etc etc then more often than not the high PR site will get ranked higher.

Also, PR is often a good indicator of the power of the back links coming into your site - if you've got some good PR links coming into your site then you will also usually achieve a good PR - and if these are keyword targetted form content specific pages then that can only be a good thing

 

PR has just a little effect on SERP... It's the content that matters.

 

Hi alot of you seem to be saying high PR does not help you get a good ranking in Google. Surely it has some effect? Lets say (in theory) you had 2 identical sites, one with PR1 and one with PR 5. Surely the site with PR 5 would be ranking higher?
