I submitted one of my blogs to active seo-friendly directories and after 4 months, my site finally got listed to 4 directories...!!!!!! Directory link building is dead!
Directories at info.vilesilencer.com are mostly free.. Even if it is free, the result is a real waste of time..
Well you might not have followed the instruction well on the directory sites or must have not adhered to their rules like reciprocal links, site content etc. Otherwise there is no reason for your site to get rejected. There is no rocket science involved in this!
Buddy I've been doing SEO since 2003 and I don't need any tutorial on link building... This is just an experiment considering that we see a lot of decline on directories effectiveness and this is just another proof that directories are getting useless..
Thanks for this advisory. Article submissions for link building and Blog guest posts always yield better results for me.
you're totally right. they're better, crawl and recorded faster than directory submission. More effective
I must be missing something. You submitted your site to some directories and got accepted to four of them. What exactly was the experiment?
Actually, its not yet DEAD, its just not showing the result right now... It really takes MONTHS before you see the results of you directory submissions.
For me, it is not yet dead. The reason why you don't get good results is because most of the directories where you submit your site are not updated. Just a tip, New directory sites approved pending request immediately, listing on new directories like this would be a great technique to build links for your site.
tell that to owner of info.vilesilencer.com that directories in their lists are not updated... These directories are all active... and having such very low result is not convincing at all...
So the fact that the directories did not accept you makes directory link building useless ? Or are you trying to say that you submitted to various directories, but eventually only four of them showed up as links in the SE's ?
There is no reason to deny my site... It's an seo forum and has 5K active members and a licensed VB...
Has anyone noticed that info.vilesilencer.com has not updated their list since May of 2008 (that is over 7 months old!). I wonder what is going on with Dan (owner of the site if you did not know)? I loved that list and how up-to-date he kept it. What a shame...:-(
I'd rather think the directory submission like "fire and forget" SEO and that's why I'm not spending too much on directory submission
