hi, Can you suggest a Google friendly CMS/Engine to set up and run a website on which could be an alternative to WordPress? In last year or two so many people use wordpress for all their crappy websites that I hear people telling that Google started to dislike WordPress. 2 years ago it was easy to rank in google if you have good content and website is built on wordpress, but now things look a little different thanks to millions of splogs built on WordPress. Is there any CMS/Engine you know that could be an alternative to WordPress, it may be not that great as WP but at least Google will hate it less. Thanks
Google doesn't hate Wordpress. I don't know where did you get that idea. To answer your question, you might want to try Joomla or Drupal (although there are millions of sites running on them too). The best thing for you would be to build a site from scratch.
A friend of mine from SEO industry told me that, he meant a new WP based website wont wank well immediately, may be after gaining some trust it will start to. Thats what he told. [/QUOTE]
Your CMS would have nothing to do with how your site ranks immediately. How you set it up might. How you promote it might. Where you host it might. I've used MovableType in the past (several years ago), and it was really nice too.
Google doesn`t love or hate any particular CMS, that would be just plain stupid. If CMS is SE friendly (clean code, semantic URL-s, ability to customize title+meta per page etc) it is only about your setup, content and backlinks. Currently WordPress is one of the best (if not the best) for successful SEO. And... Wordpress is especially good for new websites because of built in SE pinging system + many more nice features. Not everyone in SEO industry knows what he is talking about.
in terms of search engine friendly CMS, Joomla is way more search engine friendly and have lot more options than wordpress. it just that wordpress became popular and it meets the need of most bloggers for which it is widely used
Joomla is good, but can you also somewhat explain how exactly Joomla is more SE friendly than WordPress?
my main site have more than 3000 articles and I use Vivvo CMS. It's SEO friendly, their support is excelent, but you'll have to pay for it
