Can some people post some tips/tricks for increasing CTR and also how it has helped you and on what type of site? I can not seem to break the 1-2% consistently, the reason I'm asking is because I have just seen a site similiar to one of mine get an absolutely amazing 10%+ CTR...and now I'm pretty sure my site is severly underachieving... So I think this would be a good collective brainstorming thread... Here are some techniques I've used on some sites... VB Forum - May CTR 0.51% One simple idea I have for that particular site is flip the nav and ads, like in the pic bellow, maybe it would help... Emil
why not just try it and post your results if you cannot break 1-2% then you may have difficulty in raising some credibility for your ideas. James.
Uhm, whats the credibility of my ideas thing about I will try it, I'm asking for advice, for general tips/tricks on raising CTR, do you have any or are you just here to judge "the credibility of my ideas" ...wtf
if you want to PM me the url of the site in question.. or post it here I will gladly take a look and offer any suggestions I have 1-2% is low..but it depends on the type of site...some forums make less than 0.1% ctr James.
well i dont think using ads with a arrow sign is good idea.. the person can get banned as TOS dont allow any type of encouraging clicks
I like how you used the link ads. at best with link ads I have managed around 3-5% but averages out at about 2 . It would be more helpful if I saw the site and could get a feel for it. But as Solicitors Mortgages had said, forums usually have a low CTR. Theres always a way though, so keep testing and recording the CTR throughout the day, or even try placement tests in sessions of 3-4 days to get an idea of where they are doing best, keep moving them around, especially if its a forum because the regular users tend to avoid them after they know what they are. I hope to help if I can, PM me if you want some constructive commenting. -peace
