    I want my google ad to pop up if a certain keyword is typed in and if anything after that keyword is typed in.

    for example

    keyword = wigets
    I want my ad to show up anytime the word widgets is typed in with any other conceivable keyword. Do im simply place widgets in quotes?

    for single word keywords set it to broad match. (no quotes or brackets)

    for 2 worded keywords you can use phrase match to help get more targeted traffic (just quotes)

    Yep, quotes / phrase match should do the trick.

    My advise is you make an adgroup for every conceivable keyword + widget that you could think of. It's going to be a lot of work but it's more profitable this way than targeting broad single keywords.
