Do you mean you applied to become a volunteer editor?
If so, your editor application will be reviewed by one or more volunteer meta-editors or catmods, usually within a few weeks (sometimes longer), and you will receive an email advising you whether you have been successful or not. If you wish to be sure that your application has been received, you can ask in the public ODP forum - but please follow the directions for posting your question. :)

However, if you are referring to making a site suggestion, I think you'll find answers in the many other threads here with a similar focus. ;)

A couple years, surely. It's such a prestigious position they need to run a vigorous examination of your background and credentials. They need to make sure you're a quality editor before they let you in and you add your own websites and remove competitors :)

Some websites get in very fast, is there a reason?

Sure. An editor finds a site somewhere, reviews it, decides that it meets the selection criteria and will add value to a category, and then lists it.

This can all take place within a few minutes, and happens hundreds of times every day. :)

Yeah either its a payed link, the editor is from Canada and is biased to Canadians, not only do you get a link, but you can get almost ten links, its a joke.

That was a joke on your part if I am not mistaken, if it happens 100 times a day that should be 300 websites a month multiplied by what now how many claimed editors 7,000 ? So that should be.....:D:rolleyes:

How can you say it can get listed in a few minutes if ODP meta editor jimnoble said it takes over 24 hours for a suggested site to pass spam filters?

What the meta editor from Australia means or refers to are the sites they find or are already in the submission queue. That 100 times a day are sites they find and listing it from the web or offline finds. I know as I am an AX Editor. :D

I submitted a site several months ago and have not heard back from them at all. I'd like to know the answer to this question as well.

Who has had success? What's been the shortest time that you personally experienced and the longest? Has anyone ever resubmitted or is that a no-no?
