Sudden Change in Consumer Behavior

I am relatively new to internet marketing, just started in October. I've got a web page selling an information product and worked on refining my adwords campaign and webpage throughout October. I did not change much during November, as I was making money.

I have been pretty steady at a 3% conversion rate all through November. Last Friday, my conversion rate suddenly fell to an average of 1%. Nothing else seemed to change. No changes to the landing page, pricing, ads. I haven't found any additional competitors, either.

My click through rate has not changed, or on some days, has actually improved. Seems like there are lots of shoppers, but fewer buyers.

The product is not something you would buy as a Christmas present - My only theory so far is that there is a lot of surfing going on in general due to a lot of christmas shopping, and I'm seeing the effects of the Christmas season.

Any other suggestions to check out?

It may be as simple as that, currently shoppers are spending, both on the high street and online but if the product is information based its not on the shopping list as a christmas gift.

And why the change may be that focus is geared currently to getting the family gifts in and maybe after christmas has passed the people will have time to look for other products that they need, like the information products.
