Wordpress 2.7 Released - Upgrade Guide Included

So We now have the Wordpress 2.7 for us too!

And it is really a great release!

UPGRADE and INSTALL GUIDE:

1) If you have a new blog

Just go HERE and download the files, and upload to your server, also read the manual.


2) Upgrading your blog

First download the wordpress from Here
Then, Upload and replace all the files except for wp-content folder and wp-config.php file.
After uploading, go to: http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php
Follow the simple steps, and you are done!

Yes me too, It also has the QuickPress option, Just write a post in a second

 

what is quickpress BTW ?

 

There is a small box in your dashboard, Just put Post title, content and Tag, and your post will be done, it is aka QUick Post, upgrade ur wordpress and see ofr yourself!

 

Any plugins are their to up gradate to 2.7 Version?

 

I guess, they might come soon, you can do it easily if your host supports ZIP/UNZIP

 

I use this everytime http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/

 

I'm gonna make a backup and then upgrade... I'll let you know what happens.

It is the easiest. just click-click-click and done..

BTW - the new 2.7. has build in automatic upgrade now

WP automatic upgrade isn't even compatible yet. I'd seriously considering waiting a few weeks to upgrade to this!

 

No use of that plugin, automatic upgrade is already inbuilt in this!

I just upgraded to 2.7 and I've gotta say -- IT'S TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN PREVIOUS VERSIONS. I need some time to get accustomed to the new interface...

 

Its worth the upgrade dude, it a new experience, totally
