things like facebook and youtube are there because people use them every day and its easier to type youtube into their google rather than go for the address bar. i have noticed this when i observe my friends who are non-tech savvy use my computers
Britney Spears is no. 1 ? What kind of world do we live in.. [suddenly hurrying to all his websites to add Britney Spears as keywords to his pages.]
Yeah .... me .... too !! But I highly doubt that our searches are calculated in to these results .... the results are usually Safe for Work only .... adult results would be interesting to see. Might make the queer folk feel more comfortable if those were released. You will also see a lot of people searching for content on Youtube - with Google search instead of using Youtubes search function - for instance : site:youtube.com
Maybe momentarily - if you have an authoritive blog, you may capture some blog search traffic .... whilst you're in the top 10 latest results .... but as for search engine traffic .... I doubt it as these are competitive terms and searches ....
Omg Britney first? Miley? :S If u want google try googleing Top search 2008 hehe always works for me.
Whats "surf the channel"? Position 10 - never heard of this as a term! It intrigues me how people would search for things like facebook, when they can simply add the url. I reckon the comment about the non-tech savvy surfers is a valid one. Understand how these surfers perform searches, and I think you can tap into a goldmine
