A quite puzzling news!!

I was watching ABC news yesterday & the topic was the hijacking of an Indian aircraft a few years back...which was later taken to Afghanistan.
The Indian govt had to release terrorists to secure the safe release of passengers.
After the Mumbai massacre Pakistan has put that terrorist (apparently founder of a banned outfit JeM) under house-arrest.
Why don`t they hand him over to the Indian authorities or bring him to justice in Pak itself?? This is cuz, even previously too, he has been placed under house-arrest by the Pak authorities but subsequently released!!!

This sounds very puzzling to me !!

I think the International Community & especially, Pakistan`s neighbouring country, India would appreciate that & it would also act as a great confidence building measure between the two countries!!

    What say folks??:)

Actually, if you knew Pakistan, you wouldn't have found this news puzzling at all. Dawood Ibrahim and Tiger Memon, two of the most wanted terrorists, are hiding safely in Pakistan. And what does Pakistan do? It says it won't hand over these terrorists to India. Any terrorist, if he needs a safe haven where he can rest for sometime, regroup, and start his terrorist activities again, can choose Pakistan. In fact, this is exactly what happened with Masood Azhar, who was being held in an Indian jail when he was released by the Indian government in exchange for passengers of the airplane hijacked by several Pakistani terrorists in Kandahar a few years back. What did he do after that? He went, regrouped, got funds, and formed Jaish - E - Mohammad, a big terrorist outfit.

Actually, I feel sorry for the common public in Pakistan. They sincerely hope that something will change and their country will be led by a good leader. But alas; out went Mushy and what did they get? Asif Mr. Ten Percent Zardari. Their government is hell bent on saving these terrorists.

Pakistan and Indian has no agreement/arangement of handing over fugitives or criminals. If they are in Pakistan, they have to commit crime there to face any legal action by Pakistani authorities.

If Indian want to pursue Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan then first it has come up with some sort of agreement/treaty with Pakistan. Then they can ask for him. Other way is with Interpol.

Why are you surprised? Because it's your first time exposed to Indo-Pak relations. Trust me, it goes both ways. Pakistan can demand Indian terrorists like the ones involved in Samjhota train bombings that killed 80 or so majority Pakistanis and other terrorists involved in bombings in Pakistan. I am taking any side here, just stating the obvious which the media doesn't bring to light (because they have their own interests)... Both countries are at fault here.

i think letting these terrorists loose is also gonna harm Pakistan itself in the long run!!

i don`t know about the Samjhota train bombings...did it happen in pakistan?? if it did... i think Pakistan has a right to demand the perpetrators of that crime.
but really, a lot of innocent people r getting killed & tough action is indeed needed by both the countries against these terrorists !!
