From 16 unique visitors to average of 10,000 uniques

Mine has about 3000-4000 uniques per month. I hop to get 10,000 by the end of december if i work very hard!

 

How much of a traffic bump did you get from the press releases?

 

How/where exactly do you submit a press release? And to whom?

 

I had someone from dp a while ago do one for me.. and I can't really tell you specifically how much of a traffic boost I received but I received links from many different websites that picked up the press release. I also spent good money for the best exposure through prweb as well. You can get traffic from their free version but the money spent was well worth it in the long run for me.

 

good luck in getting to the 10k a month.. you learn all sorts of things along the way and that's the best part about it

 

that's one of the goals this year is a good link building campaign so we'll see how that goes

Earnings vary from month to month with the routes that we've taken to monetize the site. For now even though earnings are minimal I'm choosing not to add anything else (in the way of monetization) to the site until the unique visitors crosses anther 10k visitor threshold. Hope that answer will suffice for now.

 

the moral of the post do your research and make sure you know what gets people excited then blog about it and write a good press release.

just sharing the thoughts about the same questions I had about traffic and getting it moving when I started but there aren't any real free traffic secrets when it comes down to it.. as it will take a while to get listed on the first page for my strongest keyword I do think that ppc campaigns work if you've got the money and set them up correctly

 

Ramage, do you mind me asking, if you've been using paid PR services or free ones? So far, I haven't found that free PR makes any difference. Well, you can get a handful of visitors if your story is any interesting, however, it is an exaggeration to say that free PR makes a difference. A total time-waster, in my opinion.

Ummh, well, Alexa is not an indicator but still it is an estimate. Many of my clients have sites within around Alexa million and I can tell you, none of them are making anywhere near 10,000. But for the directory link thank you!

I agree.. although alexa can be manipulated.. again it is not a true indicator of traffic. As for the link, don't mention it..we're all trying to succeed in this game.
