    Hi,
My website www.gametion.com is mainly created in HTML and some pages in ASP. I want to renovate this website using PHP. Is it a good idea. I myself don't know much of PHP but thought I can add more functinalities and more features to gametion.com

Please advice me if its a good idea and what should be the steps to do that.

    Thanks for looking into this,
    SJ

    Hi Soni..

if you are looking to get the html pages converted into PHP that won't be a big problem.. Do you want to have a admin panel associated?

If yes send me the details.

Can't I learn it myself...I am good at HTML coding and somewhat ASP too.

Do you think it would be easy for me to learn PHP and work on mywebsite....I do not know what tough is it to learn PHP.

Sometimes back I had a look at its installation part and that seemed so confusing to me...apache..php...mysql ... so I left the idea....can you help me in its installation...if you don't mind

if you know asp (old asp 1.0, not .net) yes, it will be easy to learn php. Same concept different syntax. Give it a shot your self, and if you can't hire a professional to do you custom script. It may cost more ore less depending on how much needs to be rewritten and how complex your custom script is, and whenever your asp pages can be replaced with some open source software like joomla.

    Hi Soni..

Sounds cool that u know part ASP (somewhat). As a beginner i will suggest you to download and install wampserver It is preconfigured PHP and Mysql software which will install php as well as Mysql on your computer. So this won't be hard for you to install once you get hang of php and mysql try installing it by your self individually.

This might help you to converting your site into PHP..

    Thanks

    Hi Xak,
Thanks for your input. I know classic ASP. I looked at the link you gave me. I will download it and will see if I can manage working in PHP myself.

Thanks for your suggestions once again.
