I have a new forum my question is should submit it to the directories? or will the search engines pick it up naturally like DP? Ive tried to get to show up in Google search but no luck the forum is 2 months old.....with about 50 memebers...what should I do to get more exposer I do social so that helps twitter, Gmarks, sTUMBLE etc..........
Don't know the answer to your question, but generally speaking links can't hurt, they can only help. The question with forums might be, what is your PR? Google spends more time indexing your page the more important you are, and if something is deep within your website and you have low PR, that might be your issue. Something to think about.
I do know that exposure is the main issue for all site's. You may want to work on your target keywords. Are they popular searches? Google has several tools to aid in this. Search engines , I believe, do pick up the forums naturaly. Using link: www.KauaiMassages.com I didnit find your site indexed..although I did find your stumbleupon submission. I would definitly submit your sites again to all the engines Good Luck
not all directories are the same and not all forums are the same , if you aubmit to some directory that in googles eyes looks like a link farm its bad for your ranking.
direcory submission is waste very difficult to get indexed. Better go for nay paid submission will worthy
i also think submitting to directories is a waste of time because many directories get a penalty from google from duplicate content and you will waste a lot of time submitting to those. my advice: try blog comments in your niche => go to blogcatalog.com, find your niche in the directory and start commenting on all blogs from your niche. not spammy comments, with your anchor text as name and at URL the forum link. a lot of those blogs are dofollow and will help you get indexed and will also help you rank well for your anchor text.
anchor text as name and at URL the forum link I geuss this works I have to look for the higher pr blogs I see....lol also what about adding my form to the diretoties is it a bad I dea I have traffic seeker it blast out to 700,000 directireis....it was my understanding that Google like forums?? I see they for blog more now?? whats your take on that Nosfer ?
You have 15 backlinks. You need more. There is no link from your blog to the forum. Did you submit the URL to Google at least? Maybe your site is riding out the SERPs. Find other massage forums and start posting there.
I never did but I will because it is crucial im asking if this should be done monthly what your take here?
If you want to submit your site to directory, the catalog must relativity to your content, and i think links could promotion your site.
Do not waste your time submitting to Google. That is horrible advice. If you have quality backlinks, the search engines will find your website on their own. Do not blast your website/forum to 700,000 directories either. Even if just a small percentage approve your site, it may still trigger a spam filter due to too many links at once with the same link anchor text. You need to avoid any bulk linking software and any other link building shortcuts. You want to build trust with Google. So you should avoid anything spammy and try to make your backlinks look natural.
I found out by accident that if you have ads in big classified ad sites your link will definitely get picked up by Google. But hey, how could submitting possibly hurt you? Here's something I do with ALL my individual posts to ensure quick inclusion called Pinging For Traffic...read it carefully, try it out, then let us know how it worked for you.
jpearce ? You only need to submit to Google once. Backlinks you should do daily. what you mean by Backlinks you should do daily submit them??? be clear lol infopage Thanks .......... if you have ads in big classified ad sites your link will definitely get picked up by Google. I will loook for the argetst ones you have list??/ also the ping back option is great can I add my rss feed from the forum to that ping application???
This is incorrect. If that were the case SEO would become a process of submitting competitor sites to "link farms." Anyway, I have not seen one directory that has ever fallen into the category of a link farm. If anyone knows of any, please send me the URL. Any backlink can potentially help you. Certainly some may be devalued or simply not provide a whole lot of help. It is who you link to that can cause the damage...
I should agree with this................. I use directory submission software I admit it helps my sales and ive never lost placement nor have I been banned from the directories because you can submit only every 31 one days..... thats it but submit every 31 days for sure . links farms is blah obviously
