Regarding Affiliate Marketing + PPC, do you prefer using Wordpress or Landing Pages?

Ive read of people doing affiliate marketing with wordpress, but then others who go for i guess what you could call a proper (typical) landing page.

And id like to know which you prefer working with, whether you create your own or have them designed and purchased from someone, do you just prefer working with typical landing pages or is wordpress your way?

I understand theres some other choices too, feel free to mention if you use something else.

    Thanks

Normally I use traditional landing pages that I create myself in my affiliate marketing. I try to create at least two new PPC ad groups focused on different keywords with two corresponding landing pages every day. I use wordpress review pages that link back to those landing pages.

Can you explain a bit more regarding the wordpress review pages please?

Im guessing that your PPC ads go to the landing pages and not the wordpress review pages?

I use simple HTML/CSS landing pages,I really don't see a reason why should I integrate a CMS for a simple landing page.

I use wordpress, because it is very easy to throw up a wordpress blog, optimize it and see what happens. Depending on the results I get with the blog, I may have a custom made landing page made.

I like using landing pages that are optimized to each adgroup (always group your keywords)- this is important because it increases your quality and lowers you cpc. You could do that with wordpress too, but I find it easier to whip up a quick custom landing pages.

I say go with what you know, is comfortable with, and works for you. If you already have a WordPress method that's working, then I say stick to it. I would definitely recommend testing with landing pages. I'll even go as far as using Google Website Optimizer to do a quick A/B test and see what results you get. It may be worthwhile. Good luck!

I usually put a wordpress blog with automated content feeds on the main domain then host my landing pages on subdirectories of that domain. That way google thinks i've got a real blog going, when in reality I don't.

    :)

I've never really had much success with Adwords/PPC in general, but want to learn how to make it profitable (don't we all).

Am I right in thinking that Google will lower the CPC if you have more content?

Would it be a good idea, then, to put an entire blog/site up rather than a single page? I've always tried simple landing pages that I crafted myself. Perhaps that was why I had limited to no success.

Perhaps putting up a more complex set of related pages is the way to go?

    Best wishes

From what ive read so far its about relevancy of the content, the ad matching the landing page content as closely as possible, it appears the more effort put into that the better it can be in many ways.

Also its suggested simplicity in most cases, the removal of navigation, distractions etc.

So that would suggest a single page with content that is related to the ad itself is better than a series of interlinked pages which might prove distracting.

I also heard something about the use of H1, H2, H3 tags being important too.

    Thanks for the info, pipes

    Best wishes

I prefer using landing pages that are made for a specific keyword.

I use both. I create a wordpress blog for content (google likes content and this will actually help you with your adwords) and then I make a custom landing page not with the wordpress template.
