Analytics: 0:00 Time on Site

So, I've got a tiny little review site that's finally getting some organic traffic...I thought. Then I checked Analytics and found that of 19 visits, only 2 had any time spent on the site -- I had 17 "organic" search engine visits that lasted 0 minutes and 0 seconds.

    Huh?

Anyone have any idea what would cause such a phenomenon?

    Thank you!

well i think its because those users did not go to a second page on your site, time spent is tracked if a surfer clicks on internal links and stays on your site for whatever time but as there is no way to figure out the time spent if they visited just 1 page of your site.

I also have the same problem with google analytics since I only installed it last night. I hope that whatever it is, the google would be able to solve it. Have you tried to contact the google or did yu send them an inquiry about the problem that you are having with google analytics?

No, I haven't tried contacting Google yet. Now I feel like an idiot, because it's such an obvious thing to do. Thanks. :p

This is not right, the moment a user lands on your page where you have analytics installed, the user gets a cookie recorded into his browser. This in return should record the time spent on the site. Have a look at your bounce rate, if the bounce rate is high then you should get a way for the users to stay longer.

You can do this by giving them a description text and making them click to the full article, this works well. ;)

    Hope this helps
