Podcasts for marketing?

Has anyone considered podcasts for marketing?

for example, for each article on your site, you could offer a podcast version?

Has anyone tried this already, and if so, any decent results, or waste of time?

    comments please.

I podcast the last 100 articles of my article website but I did not obtain good results so far, I setup a link through feed2podcast, you can check them on www.articler.com under the "Listen Now" link.

Actually podcasting is already pretty huge in the marketing world. Marketing and PR pros have been toying with it in different ways, and it's pretty regularly featured in a lot of the trade magazines and sites. It's catching on with industry leaders, and will likely trickle down until "everybody's doing it" like most newer marketing tactics do. If you can do it right, it would probably be a good step to take advantage of it early on. Just understand that podcasts are just one tool. They need to be marketed themselves to really make them effective.

Great info! I know there are quite a few people doing it, but it is not huge yet. I also offer a service through my website, called www.adsbay.co.uk, where you can auction off podcast advertising. If you are interested in this sort of thing you should get into soon, because it will probably be big.
