Is there other big sites like Digg?

I was wondering if there were any other large sites like Digg.com that are based around different topics other than the technology and web based articles... Maybe something for fitness, nutrition, or health?

    Thanks in advance.

    There are very few...

I am planning on launching a few but don't know how to promote them... actually I'm caught in a lot of projects and don't have the time to approach this social bookmarking stuff.

If I find a partner I might be interested in launching a few niche digg-like sites.

Thanks for those, but dang digg is so much better than those other two. It is just easier to use, a better way of doing things, and more fun.

At digg the community has much greater power over what happens (digging links, comment moderation), so maybe that's why you feel it's the better site. However, you'll find the sense of community on a personal level is greater at fark, because there are off topic conversations, photoshop contests, and other forum-like qualities that digg lacks. Speaking of off topic conversations, I'm getting a bit off topic here from what you asked in the first place, which is if there are other sites like digg, but for specific topics.

I'll see if I can find a list of similar sites (I know this has been discussed at DP before), but I wanted to mention that digg itself will be branching out into other topics besides technology. Read more here

p.s. Here's the old DP thread that discusses similar sites to digg - Sites Like Digg And Fark, which you'll notice is down at the bottom of this page in the "Similar Threads" section.

I'll probably be launching more niche digg sites in the near future. I cut my teeth on the process with the launch of my imbuzzworthy.com site
