Difference in traffic on same kind of websites

I have a joomla website www.dewshare.com and my friend also have same kind of joomla website www.mahadownloads.com. Both sites have the same ages and contents.

But I have only 3-7 visitors from Google search engine daily and he have 400 visitors daily from Google

Can any body suggest why there is a huge difference and also what I have to do to strengthen my SEO.

Same content? Maybe that's the reason why you are not getting much traffic due to DUPLICATE CONTENT.

same content not means that they are exactly same I mean these contents type are same like

Movies
Music
Applications
E-books

But they are actually not same

 

Maybe your friend is spending some time promoting his website, maybe you should try also....

Read the forum "General Marketing" - there are a lot of promotion tips there. Please don't understand me wrong : I simply can't tell you how to market your site in one post. By the way - you can open another thread for getting personalized ideas about how to market your site in your niche. Hopefully you'll get a fair amount of advice.

My be his site is more Optimized than your site for some particular keywords

 

It is definitely not about luck. I just took a look at the sites. Yours has one big problem: lack of text in those posts. Your friend's on the other hand has a description in every single post. The search engines love text a lot more than they do images. Also, keep in mind that you should take a look at the meta tags and do them right. You should start learning more about optimization.

 

dewshare - be careful, i've seen you offer downloads and Google AdSense will ban sites that offer warez downloads. maybe he has more backlinks, that's why he gets more organic traffic.

 

there is no matter of luck bcz its not gambling, getting more traffic is based on the SEO work . may be one site which getting more traffic doing more promotion and rich content.

 

In a word it is all about content. Google (and most other search engines) love content. Written content. Valuable content. Good content. Pictures and videos enhance the end users experience but the search engines like some meat (content) on your site.

 

keyword in domain name could be the major reason.

i mean both domains are offering warez download. and on site that have keyword "Downloads" in mahadownloads.com
and other don't have that, people may search for word "downloads" more then word "share".

I think most of people search with name of the content that they want. There are many websites those don't contains the word "downloads" in their domain name . And they are getting good trafic from google .

How they do that ? Try to think on this point
