Did you know that http://www.statcounter.com/ is a PR10 Site? To me it seems weird that such a site like that would be a pr10, especially since I have never heard of it before. Weird. They also have a forum that is pr9!
They provide free statistics to bazillions of webmasters... and by default they encourage a link back to them from the tracking insert. Heck, I'm using them myself. They get a lot of traffic and of course all of us anxious webmasters go there to track our stats!
I have to say they are geniuses, yet they do not have any ads on their site? They could become major rich selling a couple ads.
I bet all those recommended sites on the left nav are paid for A nice pr10 link. What do you think thats worth? Verisign is in the list.
Yup it's not knew to me, but because each one provides a link back to them they can get a PR 10 after they begin tracking gazillions of websites. Which they have. Skinny
Cool, I guess I just didn't see those ads Is there any other site that offers a similar thing that would be a competitor for them, or do they pretty much own the industry?
Thanks, I saw the statcounter graphs of one site posted in this forum and I was impressed by their clarity. I was browsing today my bookmarks searching for the link but I didn't found it and I didn't remember the name.
Lol, hey no problem. Is there any benefit to using a program like this instead of awstats or anything?
ya i use them too. if you search for web counters or a whole bunch of other related stuff they are #1
Although they can make money from text ads I bet a large portion of that is taken in hardware costs. Its not like they have one or two dedicated servers to run the site. Think of the millions upon millions of hits they have to log daily.
statcounter is real, nichebot's is fake I also use statcounter for everything that doesn't deserve Mint or Analytics.
I actually enquired about advertising there it was, 1800 pounds/month, which is like $3,000+/month, I think, thats for the text links Emil
TeehHee your mint link goes to a real mint farm website not the haveamint.com site....got me to thinkin' about what to do w/all that mint in my yard!
