Hello, community! Just recently, I did a round of URL submissions (for a client) to various online directories. Thing is, when you try to submit a URL, many directories try to trick you into playing for it. At first, they don't tell you they are a paid directory, and let you know they have no free option only after you've filled out a 100 field-long form. So, to spare you guys the need of repeating my trials and errors, I'd like to share my list of free online directories that really accept free submissions. By the way, this doesn't go to say that paid directories are a no-no. Sometimes it is worth being listed in a couple of high-end paid directories. But I personally prefer to go for the cost-free option. Here is the list: http://www.capterra.com/ http://www.qango.com/ http://www.vendora.com/ http://linkcentre.com/ http://www.shobby.co.uk/ http://www.splut.com/ http://www.pegasusdirectory.com/ http://searchsight.com/ http://www.hitwebdirectory.com/ http://www.prolinkdirectory.com/ http://www.boingboing.net/suggest.html http://www.alistdirectory.com/ http://infomine.ucr.edu/ http://arakne-links.com/ http://search-o-rama.com/ http://www.gii.in/ http://www.busybits.com/

Is directory submission still good for SEO? Getting backlinks from these directories are quality backlinks?
